Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics started in the year 1994.  The UG course was started in the year 1994 and PG course in the year 2010. .

Scope:
A career in Mathematics has lot of options. In many fields such as Social Sciences, Medicine, Engineering, Natural Science etc. Mathematics is considered as a significant tool. It is used for solving business problems, scientific problems and economic problems.

Vision:
To upgrade performance standards in the field of Mathematics.

Mission:
The members of the Mathematics Department are dedicated to providing mathematics education of the highest quality to their students and to meeting the many educational needs of their students.

As prescribed by the Bangalore university.

Facilities:

  • The Department has got a library with good number of books.
  •  It has got computational lab with latest software  with internet facility.
  • The Department of Mathematics facilitates the use Scilab, wxmaxima, LaTex and LaTex Beamer etc. and encourages the students to master this software.

ACTIVITIES
Bridge course
Bridge courses are classes that give you information from a basic course, to prepare you for a more advanced course, thus bridging between the basic and advanced courses.

Guest lectures

  • Dr. S B Satyanarayan from Vijaya College, Bangalore delivered a lecture on General applications of Differential Equations
  • Prof. Rekha from RJS college Bangalore delivered a lecture on Ring Theory.
  • Dr. ShashiPrabhaGogate from BMS Women’s college Bangalore delivered a lecture on LaTex and LaTex Beamer.

 WORKSHOP

  • A one day workshop on “Vedic maths” by Mrs. Neha Mishra.
